This blog is a new project of mine. The start of something, I hope, that will develop into a creative, reflective narrative journey about what I have experienced and learned while living my life with a congenital disability–cerebral palsy.
Through my posts, I hope to convey to any one I would be lucky enough to have visit, that living with a disability isn’t the terrible sort of thing that some others may say it is.
There are a couple of people who I’d like to thank that throughout the years have given me the strength and the perspective to begin seeing my cerebral palsy as a unique strength and not a debilitating weakness. Here they are in no order what so ever: Jan Humphreys; my fellow chaplain residents at VCU Medical Center; my wife Melissa; my parents; my brother Mike; my nephew Tyler; my seminary professor, Rev. Dr. Katie Geneva Cannon; Todd McKinney; Eric Larsen; Charlie Berthoud; Ken Spera; the 1999 TCPC Honduras mission trip team; and Matt Matthews.
Seldom have I seen such words of sanity and grace – and I’m referring to both blogs.
Thank you. I’m humbled. Keep reading!
Hello,
I was wondering if you accept guest post for your blog. If you do, I would like to submit a few. I’m a recent college graduate, with an English major, looking to build out my portfolio. I can write on a wide variety of topics and am sure you would be happy with the quality. Please email me back if you are interested. Thank you for your time.
